Abril Gallardo Cervera Chief of Staff, Living United for Change in Arizona
Abril Gallardo Cervera (she/her/ella) has been organizing in Arizona for over a decade and is a founding volunteer member of Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE) and Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA). She is currently the Chief of Staff, overseeing our member-base, grassroots community organization building towards social, racial, and economic transformation.
In the last decade, Abril has been part of a different grassroots efforts; in 2016 she served as the Communications Coordinator with the Bazta Arpaio Campaign, which unseated the infamous Sheriff Arpaio and was a strategist in the Healthy Working Families Initiative, which let to Arizona's historic minimum wage increase and paid sick time.
Abril formerly served as the Coordinator of the One Arizona Immigration Implementation Working Group, composed of some of the strongest pro-immigrant organizations in Arizona, which focused on educating, mobilizing, and demanding dignity for immigrant families.
Currently, she serves in the Advisory committee of REFrame and is a board member of the United We Dream Action.
